Product Overview

Three new terminals are now being introduced - the M3902 basic digital set, the M3903 enhanced digital set and the M3904 professional digital set. In addition, two new accessories are being introduced - the Display Based Expansion Module (DBA) and the PC Utility which allows the personal directory on M3904 to be backed up.

M3900 Series New Digital Telephone Enhancements

Corporate Directory

Available to M3903 and M3904 users, and stored on the Meridian CPU, the corporate directory offers access to a corporate-wide directory of calling destinations based on data derived from MAT 6.6 and upwards. Features include search by last name; navigate through directory using up/down keys; "Card View" (name, number, dept.); copy entries to Personal Directory and dial entries.

Maximum corporate directory size is up to 113,000 entries, depending on RAM and hard disk storage available on the Meridian 1. Directory size is limited to 32,000 entries on Option 11C and Option 11C mini systems.

Virtual Office

This feature allows users to login to a designated M3903 or M3904 telephone and use their individual telephone configurations (lines and features) at that telephone. Calls to the user's primary DN are routed to the host telephone. The host telephone has to match the user's Virtual Office telephone configuration, i.e. M3904 telephones cannot be hosts to M3903 configurations, and vice versa.

The Virtual Office feature operates on a stand-alone Meridian 1 system only and does not record or retain contents of the Redial List, Personal Directory and Call Log between login sessions. Also, display labels for features such as autodial are local to the telephone. For this reason it is recommended that a common template for feature key layout between host set and virtual users is established.

Virtual Office is not available network wide at this time. Users can only log on to the Meridian system where their virtual TN is configured.

Set to Set Messaging

The maximum length for set to set message text is 24 characters and the user can only define one message at a time. A message will only appear for callers connected to the same Meridian system and is not currently available network wide.
